COLD FOILS

The new generation of cold foils has opened a new world for decorating. Point Scandinavia provides high performance cold foils for offset and flexo roll to roll print. The effect is similar to the hot foiling process but can be over-printed in line with remaining print stations to achieve a metallic finish on all colours. Cold foil is faster and more cost-effective compared with the hot foiling process. The tooling cost is minimal and the set up time is better compared with other printing techniques.

Cold Foil Sheet Fed Offset

TU Series
The modern sheet fed cold foils open new creative possibilities for cost effective decoration. We offer cold foils for sheet fed applications in offset printing presses. As you can overprint cold foil to create metallic colours the creativity is limitless. By using just one silver colour customers can get any desired colour by overprinting the inks to transfer the colour hues. The TU series is a sheet-fed cold foil for use with UV adhesives and UV inks on offset presses equipped with cold foil modules. Formulated for offset printing processes it allows in-line or off-line over-printing with UV dying offset inks. The TU series can be overprinted with UV or conventionally dying offset inks, allowing good adhesion of the inks to the foil.

Cold Foil Narrow Web

TO and TA series
We offer cold foil for reel to reel label applications in rotary flexo presses. The TO series is specially formulated for maximum over-printability with UV inks. The technique involve printing a glue using a ordinary printing plate, rolling foil onto the glue and removing the waste foil. UV adhesive is web printed onto the substrate and the foil is passed through the UV lamp in contact with the adhesive. The carrier is removed leaving the foiled image conventional printing equipment. Available in gold and silver, colours and holographic designs and cut to customer-specified length and width required.
